Our Story

My nana's name is Beryl.

She's always liked squirrels. Always. She uses the squirrel emoji the way most people use punctuation. So when I started building this, I knew from day one the logo would be a squirrel. There was never a question.

Her sister's name is Hazel. Between the two of them, they've given me more material than I know what to do with.

When I started worrying about Nana being alone — really worrying — I looked for something that could watch over her without making her feel watched. Something with no cameras. No wearables she'd forget to charge. No panic button she'd never press.

I couldn't find it. So I built it.

Why I built Beryl

I'm a firefighter. I've spent my career responding to emergencies — and I know better than most that the scariest moments aren't always the dramatic ones. Sometimes it's a fall that happened hours ago. A UTI that went unnoticed for days. A missed morning routine that nobody caught.

I wanted something that could quietly watch over Nana the way I would if I could be there — without cameras, without wearables, without making her feel like a patient instead of a person.

So I built Beryl. Named for her. Designed for her. And for every family navigating the same impossible balance of love, distance, and worry.

How it works

Beryl uses WiFi signal patterns — not cameras, not microphones — to learn your loved one's daily routine. When something changes, your family gets an alert. That's it. No footage. No data you didn't ask for. Just quiet, intelligent care.

Who we are

Beryl Health is a solo-founded company built on one belief: that aging at home with dignity is a right, not a privilege — and that the families who make it possible deserve better tools.

We're currently in pre-production, accepting founding member reservations. The whole-home 5-sensor package is $149 — fully refundable, always, no questions asked. Founding members lock in monitoring at $29/mo forever (regular price: $49/mo), even when prices rise. We're targeting Q1 2027 for our first shipments.

If you have questions, ideas, or just want to talk — we'd love to hear from you.
